Status of the Work in Bodio
Until the side benches are installed in the east tunnel in 2012, construction work is suspended. On the Bodio surface installations site, the Pollegio 2 temporary storage site is being enlarged. This will allow a greater volume of excavated rock to be deposited, which will be used in concrete production after driving with the tunnel boring machines is complete. For this concluding phase (2011-2012), 500,000 tonnes of raw material will be required for concrete aggregate.
