The east TBM drive has cut 8,724 metres of tunnel. The average daily advance rate in February 2010 was 17.6 metres. On January 26, 2010, the transition from Medels granite to Tenelin Zone gneiss was bored through. On January 28, 2010, the TBM passed through the transition without problem.

The TBM West has cut through 8,295 metres, and in February 2010 achieved an average daily advance rate of 16.6 metres. In the west drive, the transition to the laminated gneisses has not yet been reached.
Repair of the squeezing zone in the inner lining of the west tunnel was successfully completed on February 18, 2010. A very good daily repair rate of 2.4 metres was achieved. Following completion of repair of the vault, work has started on pulling the west tunnel lining machine through, which before the repair work was standing in waiting position. When this has been done, further correction work will be done on the invert.

In parallel with the driving and repair work, lining is proceeding of the Faido multifunction station and of the connecting tunnels to the north and south. In the air outflow system west, work in all of the shafts is complete. In the air outflow system east, concreting work took place on Air Outflow Shafts 1 to 4.
