North-end connection
In the shell structure of the Altdorf/Rynächt section, work on the various structures continues. These include the temporary foundations for the overhead conductor masts.
Rynächt installations site
Logistical operations for installation of the railway infrastructure systems Erstfeld-Sedrun east and west continue.
Removal, modification and replacement of the foundations for the overhead conductor masts are in progress.
Erstfeld-Sedrun east and west
Laying of the ballastless track is making good progress. By April 27, 2012, Installation Section 5 will be complete. The ballastless track will then be complete as far as Km 108.292.
In the west tube, the industrial-water and cooling-water pipes have been transported into the tunnel and installed. The tubes are now being filled in sections. The temporary installations (tunnel radio, personnel location, lighting power supply, etc.) are proceeding in parallel.
In the multifunction station at Sedrun, the ventilation concept for the construction phase starting in September 2012 is being agreed between TRANSCO and TTG.
Faido-Bodio West
Removal of the industrial-water and cooling-water pipes is in progress.
The NIV tests of the electrical installations with and without voltage are being performed in all cross passages and the permanent power supply is being connected in the cross passages. Work on labelling the cables is in progress.
Installation of the cables to feed the overhead conductor in the area of the portal is in progress.
Tunnel infrastructure systems
In 127 of 178 cross passages, installation of the infrastructure systems is complete. By May 2012, the cross passages at Sedrun will be installed, and by September 2012 also the cross passages at Faido.
The factory test of the air-inlet shutters for Longitudinal Cavern III and Lateral Cavern I of the multifunction station at Sedrun have taken place at Scirocco in Vienna. The air-inlet shutters fulfilled all of the high requirements that were specified and passed the test.
Pollegio Control Centre (CEP)
Work on laying the power supply cables has begun. The medium voltage cables between the railway systems building and the Pollegio Control Centre (CEP) have been pulled in.Delivery of the transformers and of the medium- and low-voltage enclosures has begun.
