Status of Work: Electromechanical Equipment

In mid-April the surveyors commissioned by ATG checked the first 5 km of the ballastless track in the east tube at Erstfeld with the RACER II track-measuring car.

As already in Bodio West, which was checked with RACER I, the provisional real-time evaluation inside the tunnel indicates a very high inner and outer accuracy of the track. RACER II, which was developed in collaboration with the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich, contactlessly measures the rails with four laser scanners simultaneously, calculates the absolute position, the distance between the rails, and the height of the rails, and compares these with the specified values for the trackbed.
