Status of the Work in Sedrun

Concreting work in the single-track tubes continues, concentrating mainly on installation of the bench.

In the single-track tube south-east, the 132 kV block has been concreted from the south as far as Cross Passage South 8. The bench has been installed as far as cross passage S4. Work on pressing the ridge gap and concrete finishing work are following after concreting from the south.

Concreting of the construction-logistical and normal cross passages is complete. Installation of the tunnel infrastructure systems (doors, ventilation, technical floors) in the cross passages has been completed according to plan.

In the south-west single-track tube, installation of the bench has reached a point south of construction-logistical cross passage S4. Work on pressing the ridge gap, preparatory cleaning work, and concrete finishing are in progress.

In the south-east side tunnel of the multifunction station, the first pier blocks are being constructed. In the north side tunnel, the shotcrete vault is complete. To accelerate installation of the bench, installation of the bench has also begun in the emergency stop station south west.

In Transverse Cavern I, the central cooling system is being dismantled. Dismantling and removal of the installations is proceeding rapidly.

The new overground concrete system has been set up and is ready for operation. In Shaft 2, the first of two concrete gravity chutes has been installed.

Construction of the railway systems building began on schedule on April 2, 2012.
